What is the best thing that I love about my work? Telling stories and collecting stories.
What is my greatest fear? My greatest fears are to be trapped or to die before I have told my stories.
What is the trait that challenges me the most in myself? My mind is constantly moving. Sometimes I would just like to relax.
Which persons in my profession do i most admire? Storytellers on a mission for good: Joseph Campbell who shows us how we share the same universal stories in a world of differences. Alain de Botton with his ‘School of Life’ bringing philosophy to our daily lives. Seth Godin who motivates us to go from intruder marketing to permission marketing.
What is my greatest extravagance? I love to invite interesting people to tell their story. It has become an addiction. It means freedom for me.
On what occasion would I lie? Every storyteller lies. Every storyteller tells a truth.
When and where was I the happiest, in my work? The moments I am writing in a busy café or restaurant in a city. Lose myself in writing whilst not missing out on life.
If I could, what would I change about myself? If possible I would change my life expectancy. Living in ‘extra time’ is beautiful, sometimes tiresome.
What is my greatest achievement in work? Finding my own road less traveled.
Where would I most like to live? I have embraced the Portfolio Life Story. Eindhoven to be close to my parents. Florence where my heart lies. Paris to write stories. Malaga to breathe sun and art.
What is my most treasured possession? My brain
What is my most marked characteristic? The will to go the extra mile. The belief that there is always a better story to tell. When you dig deep enough.
What books influenced my life and how? The biography of the mythologist Joseph Campbell “The Hero’s Journey” in which I saw how he turned his lifelong passion for stories into a profession and whose story about how to travel brought me the idea to create a new kind of travel guide.
You Only Die Once. What movies would I want to see on my last day? Movies which show the raw beauty of the italian way of life. La Dolce Vita. La Grande Belleza. La Vita e Bella. I was almost too late before my own heart surgery because I wanted to finish a fascinating italian movie.
What do the words ‘You are the storyteller of your own life’ to me? Could have invented them myself:). The most important story in your life is the story you tell yourself – to yourself and others – about yourself.

What projects am I looking forward to work on? Every year a new Hero’s Journey/ The Heroine’s Journey book of a world city and great storytelling project for clients
