What is the best thing that I love about my work? As a Game Designer I love to create stories that people can enjoy. I love how, with simple tricks, I can develop emotions in a player and see different reactions.
What is my idea of perfect happiness? It’s when you rest after a long work, proud of what you accomplished.
What is my greatest fear? Right now it’s to end my experience in gaming industry without being satisfied about what I did.
What is the trait that I most deplore in myself? Being creative is my biggest strength, but sometimes thinking about new features, new games, makes me inattentive in what I am doing at the moment. I worked a lot on that, and I still must work a lot.
Which living persons in my profession do I most admire? Neil Druckmann, Naughty Dog’s Creative Director / Daniel Vàvra, Mafia and Kingdom Come Deliverance creator / Sam and Dan Houser Rockstar Games Founders.
What is my greatest extravagance? I am a technology enthusiast. I love to buy (sometimes expensive) objects even when I know they would be useless.
On what occasion would I lie? It really depends, there is not a standard occasion where to lie, but I never lie when I know the lie could be discovered somehow in the future.
What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work? I don’t like the toxicity around it. Toxicity from customers that always pretend a perfect piece of art without knowing the problems behind it, but also business people, turning down great ideas because not economically safe.
If I could, what would I change about myself? I would go back and find my way earlier (I decided to try a career in videogames when I was 24).
What is my greatest achievement in work? Omen Exitio: Plague. I am very proud of that title because I was the only designer and I had total freedom to put all my ideas, and it went very good with a 91% of appreciation on Steam.
Where would I most like to live? This is a hard question, because I live in what I think is one of best places on Earth, Lake of Garda. But if we are talking about living for some years and not my whole life, I would say Torino, Firenze, Somewhere in the Midlands in UK or any European capital.
What is my most treasured possession? My PC. I built all by myself, studying every single component for six months before choosing GPU, CPU and so on. It’s now 6 years old and still running great.
What is my most marked characteristic? Probably my irony and my humour.
What is my most inspirational location, in my city? I’m not in a city, so I would say a town on the lake, called Tremosine. You must reach it by Strada della Forra, an iconic road built in mountain cracks.
What is my favourite place to eat and drink, in my city? Every Italian has only one place where to eat that stands above the others: Grandmother’s house!
What books influenced my life and how? I am not a big reader; I would probably say The Art of War by Sun Tzu.
Who are my favourite writers? I would say Carlos Ruiz Zafòn.
You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day? Definitely Fabrizio De Andrè the whole day.
Who is my hero or heroine in fiction? I don’t have a fictional hero, but I love normal and “real” characters, like JD from scrubs, Joel and Ellie from The Last of Us, Henry from Kingdom Come Deliverance and Tommy Angelo and Vito Scaletta from Mafia series.
Who are my heroes and heroines in real life? Fabrizio De André, an Italian song writer who always fought to do things his way.
Which movie would I recommend seeing once in a lifetime? The Meaning of Life by Monty Python
What role plays art in my life and work? To me art is emotions. Everything I do must give me a certain kind of emotion, and I want the same in my products.
Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime? All the colleagues that became my friends, because with them I share my biggest passion, videogames.
Whom would I like to work with in 2019/2020? There’s not a specific person, I would love to work with people able to stimulate my creativity and a passion for new things.
Which people in my profession would I love to meet in 2019/2020? I would like to meet and have a chat with one great personality in the game industry doesn’t matter who.
What project, in 2019/2020, am I looking forward to work on? I would love to work with Daniel Vàvra on the next chapter of Kingdom Come Deliverance.
