The Hero’s Journey of Tray Grant

What is the best thing that I love about my work?

I believe storytelling allows me to connect with people from different backgrounds. It allows me to not only entertain, but connect with others on a deeper level. I tell stories to help deliver bigger messages that may not be seen throughout everyday life. There’s a meaning and a purpose behind every story I tell where I want the viewer to feel as if they are living in the same world as the characters and have the opportunity to change their own narrative, but in real life. Another thing I love about my work is showcasing imagery that can reveal information through the viewer’s observation.

What is my idea of happiness?

My idea of happiness is living a life full of positivity while allowing yourself to be open-minded enough to not allow other people’s situations, words, or problems bother you. I think true happiness allows you to be unbothered, and spread love while appreciating everything around you; in other words, being humble and grateful

Besides the great man above, I fear not being able to use my talents and gifts in the way that I think they should be used, which is by helping and connecting with others.

On what occasion would I lie?

I like to believe I’m an honest person. I seek no benefit in lying. However, if it was a situation where someone needed to be protected then my answer may change.

What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?

I dislike when those with higher positions or authority are narcissistic and lack humbleness. Many people throughout the world possess extraordinary talents but lack the position to showcase them. Those seen as least are told to follow the rules and not draw outside the lines while those seen as most are free to do whatever they want while condemning the lesser ones for trying to do the same things that they do so they can reach the level of “most.” A shorter way to express this is hypocrisy.

When and where was I the happiest, in my work?

I’m happy anytime I’m brainstorming to create a new idea. That process allows me to really sick back and analyze not only the world I’m building, but the world around me. This helps me learn while growing more appreciation for things I may have or have not already appreciated.

If I could, what would I change about myself?

There’s nothing specific I desire to change about myself, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to grow.

What is my greatest achievement in work?

I have no special achievements yet. I like to think that every script I finish is an achievement because it allows me to be able to showcase it to others.

Growing up, I was a huge fan of anime and animation, still am. This is why a small part of me would love to live in Japan. However, another part of me would love to move to LA and live out my life there, but I think wherever life takes me and allows me to showcase my gifts and talents will be fine with me.

What is my most treasured possession?

My life, yeah I gotta keep that.
