What is the best thing that I love about my work?
Meeting people from different walks of life, sharing our creative energy and telling stories that are not my own, hopefully to move, entertain and share my passion with my audience.
What is my idea of happiness?
To do the thing I love, to get to be creative and passionate about the things I love every day. To hopefully bring at least a little joy to the people who see my work and also to the people I know and love. To learn every day in both my professional and personal life and always strive to know more about myself and the world around me.
What is my greatest fear?
To feel I’ve wasted my life and to die unfulfilled. To let others down.
What is the trait I most deplore in myself?
To not be able to see myself in a positive light and my unfortunate tendency to procrastinate!
Which living persons in my profession do I most admire?
Those that give transformative performances and make you feel every emotion. Nicole Kidman, Leonardo Di Caprio, Margot Robbie, Lady Gaga and Robert Pattinson are among those I greatly admire. I also have huge admiration for actor Demelza O’Sullivan, who is from my local area and has achieved incredible success.
What is my greatest Extravagance?
Investing everything I have in my art and my passion, the greatest extravagance you can have.
On what occasion would I lie?
Only to protect someone from pain they can’t handle or if there was no other solution to a serious problem.
What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?
Auditions, I can get quite stressed sometimes!
When and where was I the happiest, in my work?
In London, filming ‘Afterlife’ for Netflix, I felt like a true actor and was so well looked after. I also received some incredibly nice comments.
If I could, what would I change about myself?
To let myself be happy and to see myself the way those that care about me, see me.
What is my greatest achievement in work?
Managing to move people with my work and hearing their thoughtful comments about how my performance has spoken to them and left them with lots of thoughts and questions. I don’t seek money or fame, to connect with my audience is the greatest thing I’ve achieved and want to achieve.
Where would I most like to live?
Anywhere that has a strong and vibrant creative community.
What is my most treasured possession?
My late maternal Grandfather’s favourite radio, it means the world to me.
What is my most marked characteristic?
My sense of empathy and compassion for other people.
What is my most inspirational location, in my city?
The ancient castle, I just love the history and grandeur of it, it really speaks to me on a creative level.
What is my favourite place to eat and drink in my city?
I have a strict budget but I do love a little local café, it’s just bursting with vibrant life.
What books influenced my life and how?
The works of Agatha Christie, they were amazing to read, such great studies of the human condition and they really made want to act those stories for an audience.
You only die once. What music would I listen to on my last day?
Dancing by Kylie Minogue. Incredible and very appropriate.
Who is my hero or heroine in fiction?
Mrs. Harris in ‘Mrs. ‘Arris goes to Paris’. A humble woman from a humble background who just wanted to buy a dress and ended up changing and touching so many peoples lives proving that any one of us can be the change we want to be.
Who are my heroes and heroines in real life?
Will young and Kylie Minogue, two very talented artists who suffered declines in their careers but came back fighting and never gave up on their dream or the things they believed in.
Which movie would I recommend to see once in a lifetime?
Splash, a romantic comedy from 1984 directed by Ron Howard, a simple and sweet story of love against the odds.
What role play stories in my life and work?
Stories take me to another world and help me to experience the world though the eyes of another. I’m always reading stories to draw inspiration for the characters I play and just to learn more about how different people love, think and feel.
Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime?
My Mother, she has always supported me and has never stopped believing in me and lifting me up.
Which people or companies would I like to work with?
I would love to work with Disney, I love their creative energy, I’d love to voice a character in one of their animated features and I have the typical fantasy of playing a superhero! I would also love to work with as many independent filmmakers as I can as I love independent cinema, there’s nothing like it.
What project am I looking forward to work on?
A story told through a series of still photographs with a local photographer, I’m very excited.
