The Hero Journey in Money: Your Sixth Sense

Money is like a sixth sense without which you cannot make a complete use of the other five – W. Somerset Maugham

Bruce Willis starred in the movie The Sixth Sense and trusted his intuïtion when he took a pay cut to play the part and instead took a percentage of ticket sales. The picture made more than $650 million, and Willis made millions too. Your intuïtion is like having your own Yoda. The force is IN you. Trust your inner directors. Advisors are helpful, but ultimately decisions about what to do (and not to do) with your money are yours and yours alone. Once you tap into this source of knowledge, it is easier to make decisions. It is like having an inner compass.

The Sixth Sense is by far Bruce’s biggest career payday. For the film he took an upfront salary of $14 million plus a large percentage of the gross receipts. In total he ended up earning around $100 million from the movie.
