What is the best thing that I love about my work?
I work in multimedia so I have a lot of variety, I work as a musician full time, teaching music, doing sound and music scores for film and TV as well as my photography work. No day is ever boring or run down for me, there is always something new and exciting. The best thing about it is the networking, I am a people person and enjoy their company, so this line of work compliments it wonderfully.
What is my idea of perfect happiness?
If I am honest, all I have ever wanted in life is a wife and children, not fame or fortune, but at the moment I am living a very happy life surrounded by amazing people so I am content with what I already have.
What is my greatest fear?
I think our greatest fears are ourselves, the origin is usually the same, whether it be shattered self confidence or simply turning on the TV and seeing the atrocities around the world, despite my outgoing personality I am very insecure about myself, and I’m not ashamed to admit that, but like the quote by George RR Martin says “ wear your weakness like armour and it can never be used against you”
What is the trait that I most deplore in myself?
I have certain insecurities about myself in image most, having lost teeth and scarred body.I often get told I am too trusting or too nice, I don’t believe there is such a thing or at least there shouldn’t be. The modern world needs a little more trust and niceties, I’m never going to lower my standards of treating people equally because someone may think I have an objective for doing so, and its satisfying when people realise I don’t have an agenda.
What is my greatest extravagance?
I spend to much money on equipment, if I ever have the money to buy the something I want, rather than need, I usually do so… when at times that money would have been best spent elsewhere.
On what occasion would I lie?
When I was younger and stupid, I think the birth of social media has allowed people to exaggerate more in a believable manner, usually in a negative context, I was bad for it myself, in that it can be like a drug victimising yourself if you are receiving the right attention from it. I try to avoid it completely, if you can’t be nice or honest, don’t speak at all.
What is the influence of role models, in my work and in my life?
I have no photography or music role models really, there are 2 big role models in my life who are MMA coaches, John Kavanagh and James Doolan, When you are taking in people under confident or over confident in a combat environment then turning them into professional athletes with professional attitudes then this is a major achievement. I think both guys have great outlooks on not only improving the sport they are in, but also the mind of success and on life. The words of both these guys were a huge impact on changing myself for the better. Coach John Kavanagh page on Facebook is a very good read for anyone, I hear he is writing a book soon too.
What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?
I think deadlines are the thing I dislike most, as sometimes they can be unrealistic, I also dislike politics and catty remarks in the music/film industry, however I just walk away from it, results will always speak for themselves so I don’t have to.
When and where was I the happiest, in my work?
In Music, it was when I worked with Michael Angelo Batio and did a guitar solo for one of his albums Hands Without Shadows Volume II , In film it was when I made my own short film Pandora with some friends which we even won an award for. And in photography I am happiest whenever I see my work being shared or becoming profile pictures on Facebook, or when a model wants to shoot with me again.
If I could, what would I change about myself?
Tough question, It would be pretty cool to fly or be able to breathe underwater, there is a lot of unexplored territory above and below, definitely something like that or some kind of superhero power.
What is my greatest achievement in work?
I live by a phrase “ doing is achieving” so everyday when I get up and I learn a new music technique or editing technique or photography skill etc. then it is a great achievement. However, in 1 year I have got to my current photography standard, and I am very proud of that.
What is my most inspirational location, in my city?
I like hills or mountains, there is a place called Brimond Hill in Aberdeen that you can look over the city at the top, and it is really cool and puts some things in perspective, if you take a telescope up there on a clear night you can see some awesome views of the stars.

Its something I never really think about, when I was younger I wanted to work with the greats like Stevie Wonder or Joe Bonamassa, but now I think anyone who wants to do and achieve is just as great as any of these people, they all started somewhere, so anyone can.
What project, in the nearby future, am I looking forward to work on?
Once I finish this round of photography sessions and editing, I am working a new movie with some great people, not much can be said at this current time but I can promise it will be a great venture.
