What is the best thing that I love about my work? The ability to create entirely new universes.

What is my idea of perfect happiness? My life, except the searching for money to make projects part.

What is my greatest fear? Sharks. But I love them.

What is the trait that I most deplore in myself? My fear of sharks.

Which living persons in my profession do i most admire? Shane Carruth, David Fincher, Gaspar Noe, Refn.

What is my greatest extravagance? Traveling, but it’s not an extravagance, it’s a necessity.

On what occasion would I lie? Whenever I cannot get away with it.

What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work? Having to spend 95% of my time trying to find money to make films happen. This is a horrendous part of my work.

When and where was I the happiest, in my work? In front of the blank page, on set when I create a universe as a director or on set only listening to the director’s vision when I act.

If I could, what would I change about myself? I’d like to stop loosing my memory.

What is my greatest achievement in work? Making two feature films I am proud of.

What do the words ‘The Financial Freedom to Create’ mean to me? Paradise.

Where would I most like to live? Monday in Cannes, Tuesday in Barcelona, Wednesday in New York, Thursday in Paris, Friday in Tokyo, Saturday in Hong Kong and Sunday in Sarajevo.

What is my most treasured possession? I don’t own anything.

What is my most marked characteristic? Probably my big mouth.

What is my most inspirational location, in my city? My shower.

What is my favourite place to eat and drink, in my city? Herringbone Santa Monica for their oysters.

What books influenced my life and how? L’instinct de mort by Jacques Mesrine made me realize the thin line between right and wrong. The talented Mr Ripley by Patricia Highsmith for its main character.

Who are my favorite writers? Patricia Highsmith, Camus, Frederic Beigbeder, Alex Garland.

You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day? Radiohead: Jigsaw Falling Into Place.

Who is my hero or heroine in fiction? Thomas Ripley. Patrica Highsmith’s novel character.

Who are my heroes and heroines in real life? Alain Delon (his persona).

Which movie would i recommend to see once in a lifetime? Plein Soleil (Rene Clement 1960).

What role plays art in my life and work? I hope my life and work play an important role in Art.

Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime? She is, I hope, my greatest fan, I wish she was my sponsor, and she is my partner in crime, my girlfriend Vedrana Egon. We just co wrote/directed/produced/acted in the feature film WHENEVER I’M ALONE WITH YOU this summer in the south of France.

Whom would I like to work with in 2017? David Fincher, Ryan Gosling and Shane Carruth.

Which people in my profession would i love to meet in 2017? Alejandro Jodorowsky, Winding Refn.

What project, in 2017, am I looking forward to work on? On the post production of WHENEVER I’M ALONE WITH YOU, and a film with Robert De Niro.
