Course Scheduling Options
Because of the power of in-person city immersion training plus today’s demand for customized corporate delivery, I now offer two distinct ways to get certified — creating more scheduling and pricing options than ever before.
OPTION ONE:
Peter de Kuster’s In-Person Hero’s Journey Certification Course
My flagship pathway to becoming a Certified Hero’s Journey Guide is a five-day, in-person course taught by me, Peter de Kuster. This immersive program offers the most direct engagement with the creator of the Hero’s Journey city methodology, along with valuable collaboration and discussion among a small cohort of fellow participants (maximum 8).
Across five intensive days walked through creator landmarks in Rome, Florence, Berlin, Barcelona, Venice, Madrid, or New York, participants learn the core content of the Hero’s Journey, including its key biographical frameworks, models, and methods. The course combines instruction with facilitated creator walks through Caravaggio’s chapel and Gaudí’s crypt, discussion of facilitation techniques, and open dialogue about how the biographical ideas can be applied within each participant’s organization, industry, or practice—mapping Michelangelo’s patron wars to client retention, Bowie’s Berlin exile to product pivots.
The experience also includes shared meals and informal evening gatherings at sacred creator sites designed to deepen relationships and extend the conversation beyond the classroom—story circles at Caravaggio’s Contarelli Chapel, wine at Gaudí’s crypt, reflection before Michelangelo’s David.
Fees and Scheduling
The fee for the in-person certification course is €3,450, which includes all course materials and most meals.
Future public course dates will be announced periodically as they are scheduled in Rome, Florence, Berlin, Barcelona, Venice, Madrid, and New York. Because the program is intentionally limited in size to maximize interaction with me and the creator landmarks, each cohort is typically restricted to no more than 8 participants.
Admission requires completing an application, which is personally reviewed by me to ensure a strong cohort of participants and meaningful peer exchange among those called to become city storytellers.
To express interest in attending a future course or to be notified when new dates are announced, please email peterdekuster2023@gmail.com or sign up for my Hero’s Journey Cities newsletter at www.theherojourney2016.com.
OPTION TWO:
Private, In-House Hero’s Journey Certification Courses
Based on market demand from companies who want more in-depth knowledge and understanding of my Hero’s Journey content, I now offer private Certification programs on an “in-house” basis to individual companies. This approach is ideal for organizations who want to equip an ensemble of internal change agents intent on creating a more narrative-focused enterprise through their city’s biographical masters.
The private course presents the same original Peter de Kuster material as found in the public course, with added focus on the company’s own marketplace challenges and opportunities mapped to city creators like Michelangelo’s Sistine deadlines or Caravaggio’s shadow redemption. It gives whole teams the chance for a once-and-done mindset shift to establish a common biographical language and vision. And I can stage the Course in two ways: live at your location, or walked through my Hero’s Journey Cities (Rome, Florence, etc.). (Either way eliminates the need for participant travel costs!)
Attractive Pricing and a Simple Process
Whether in-person or city-based, pricing remains €2,800 per person for a minimum of two participants. Just gather your team and identify your course candidates, then choose your preferred Hero’s Journey City or corporate venue. Then simply contact me at +31 5 19192245 or peterdekuster2023@gmail.com to begin the registration and scheduling process for an in-house course. Private Certification Courses can be scheduled anytime throughout the year.
