The Hero’s Journey of Giuseppe Leto

What is the best thing that I love about my work?
What I love most about my work is that it allows me to travel, discover new cultures, and meet people from all over the world. Every encounter enriches me and teaches me something new about life and about myself.

What is my idea of happiness?
My idea of happiness is feeling well, being healthy, and being at peace with myself. For me, happiness is balance — between giving and receiving, between art and silence.

What is my greatest fear?
My greatest fear is indifference. Unfortunately, it’s something very present in our society today, but I believe that music can still awaken empathy and genuine human connection.

What is the trait that I most deplore in myself?
Sometimes I am too much of a perfectionist. I tend to control every single detail of my performances, forgetting that imperfection is often what makes art truly human.

Which living persons in my profession do I most admire?
Definitely Andrea Bocelli. He brought Italian music into the hearts of millions, turning it into a universal language. I share his same mission: to make classical music accessible and deeply moving for everyone.

What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?
In Italy, music is still often seen as just a hobby rather than a real profession. I hope this mentality will soon change, because music is a powerful, therapeutic, and essential form of work.

When and where was I the happiest, in my work?
One of the happiest moments in my career was singing in Canada before a huge audience, proudly representing Italy. Every time I step on stage, I relive that same emotion — a dream come true.

If I could, what would I change about myself?
I would try to slow down and enjoy the present moment more, instead of always thinking about the next goal or the next performance.

What is my greatest achievement in work?
I believe my greatest achievement is yet to come. It already exists in my mind and in my heart, and every step I take brings me a little closer to making it real.

Where would I most like to live?
I would love to live in a place that inspires me musically — energetic yet serene, full of creativity and people, but also with space for silence and nature.

What is my most treasured possession?
My voice. It is not only an instrument, but the reflection of my story, my soul, and the people who have shaped me.

What is my most marked characteristic?
The ability to blend pop music with opera. This “crossover” style allows me to bring the beauty of opera closer to those who might not know it, showing that it tells stories and emotions very close to our everyday lives.

What is my most inspirational location, in my city?
The sea. Its vastness inspires me — it reminds me of freedom, depth, and emotional honesty, just like singing does.

What is my favorite place to eat and drink, in my city?
In my beloved Sicily, nothing beats an arancino or a sandwich with panelle. I also love making pizza myself — it’s my way of relaxing and creating something that brings people together.

What books influenced my life and how?
The book that most influenced my life is Mario Lanza. Una voce, un artista by Eddy Lovaglio.
This biography tells the story of an Italian-American tenor who, from humble beginnings, conquered Hollywood and America with his unique voice — embodying the American dream that I, too, am chasing.

You Only Die Once. What music would I listen to on my last day?
Perhaps the final scene of La Bohème, when Mimì dies — it expresses all the fragility and beauty of love. But also the music of Ennio Morricone, which gives me a deep sense of peace.

Who is my hero or heroine in fiction?
Spider-Man, without a doubt. He represents resilience, responsibility, and hope. I’ve admired him since I was a child, and I still have two giant Spider-Man figures hanging on my bedroom wall.

Who are my heroes and heroines in real life?
My parents. They have always supported me and my brother, giving us the freedom to follow our passions. Their love and trust are my roots.

Which movie would I recommend to see once in a lifetime?
Cinema Paradiso. It captures the magic of dreams, memories, and the transformative power of art — themes that are very close to my heart.

What role play stories in my life and work?
Stories are my fuel. Through music, I tell universal emotions that anyone can identify with — and that is what gives meaning to my entire art.

What do the words “You are the storyteller of your own life” mean to me?
They mean being responsible for my own journey. Every choice, every note I sing, is part of the story I’m writing — not only as an artist but as a human being.

Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime?
My father. Even though he often stays silent, I know he’s the one who believed in me from the very beginning — sometimes even more than I believed in myself.

Which people or companies would I like to work with?
Definitely David Foster — one of my greatest inspirations. His ability to merge classical and pop music perfectly reflects the kind of artistic language I want to create.

What project am I looking forward to work on?
I’m looking forward to working on new crossover projects where symphonic sounds meet contemporary music — a space where emotion and innovation intertwine.

Where can you see me or my work?
You can find my performances and projects on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.

What do the words “Passion Never Retires” mean to me?
Passion is the engine of life. As long as I keep feeling that fire inside, I will keep singing, creating, and dreaming — because true passion never fades.

Which creative heroes should Peter invite to tell their story?
Andrea Bocelli, Michael Orland, and Sandro Russo — artists who inspire me through their dedication and their ability to touch people’s hearts.
