What is the best thing that I love about my work?

I love a challenge some characters are easier to play than others. I usually start my work by finding the traits the Character has that I have. I ultimately play different versions of myself. Sometimes the characters I play are very different to me and I like that challenge. Its a journey. Empathy is the invisible tread that connects us all. We all have a full spectrum of emotions and you cannot act emotions, you must feel them.

What is my idea of happiness?

I think Steve Maraboli put it best. ” Happiness is not the absence of problems its the ability to deal with them. There was a time when I would suspend Happiness, I will be happy when I achieve this or that and when I did, I did not feel the Happiness I was expecting. I am happiest in the present, spending time with family. From a work perspective while on stage in character or on set.

What is my greatest fear?

Getting addicted to herion again I have not used that drug since 2017

What is the trait that I most deplore in myself?

My need or want for recognition, Is something I deplore it is something I need to constantly work on.

Which living persons in my profession do i most admire?

Daniel Day Lewis, Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Sean Penn, Al Pacino, Jodie Comer, Stephen Graham, Anthony Hopkins, Olivia Colman. To be honest the list could be a lot bigger I love a performance that allows me to suspend belief and takes me on an emotional journey.

What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?

Answer Self-tape Auditions. 

When and where was I the happiest, in my work?

The first Ten years, I did a lot of classical Theatre I had an amazing time touring with Classic Stage Ireland I was playing sir Andrew Aguecheek in Twelfth Night.  I based him on Charlie Chaplin and Stan Laurel, So that show for Theatre and my first film Adam and Paul. I enjoyed those projects 

If I could, what would I change about myself?

I am ashamed to say I spent far to much money on Drugs.

What is my greatest achievement in work?

All of it I am very proud of all I have achieved even the not so good stuff because those jobs thought me a lot about my craft.

Manchester

What is my most treasured possession?

Nothing

What is my most marked characteristic?

Helping others in my role as a psychosocial interventions worker and Drama teacher. 

What is my most inspirational location, in my city?

Etihad Stadium 

What is my favorite place to eat and drink, in my city?

The Curry Mile

What books influenced my life and how?

Of mice and Men was the first proper novel I read and It thought me that I could escape into literature go on a journey with the Characters, visualise the characters and the places they went. It was my gateway novel I suppose.

The Beatles 

Who is my hero or heroine in fiction?

Lt Col. Frank Slade. Scent of a Woman

Who are my heroes and heroines in real life?

People who work in health care, people who work to make other people’s lives better or more comfortable. All of them such hard work and the money they get paid is not great, most of them do it because they want to make people’s lives a little better. They are the heros and heroines.

Which movie would i recommend to see once in a lifetime?

On the waterfront

What do the words ‘You are the storyteller of your own life’ to me?

I decide what I want to do and I make it happen. I am fully responsible for my successes, my failures and the things I wanted to do but never got round to for whatever reason

My step Mum Rachel 

What project am I looking forward to work on?

Im looking forward to doing some Theatre again.
