The Hero’s Journey in Florence: Your Second Act

Divina Commedia: Begin Your Next Chapter in Florence

Many successful people reach a point where their first career, identity, or life path no longer fits. In Florence, the birthplace of Dante’s Divine Comedy, your Second Act begins not from crisis, but from courage. This Leadership Walking Hero’s Journey uses Dante’s journey through InfernoPurgatorio, and Paradiso as a symbolic map for your reinvention as a leader and human being. Over five days, you’ll walk through the streets, churches, and hilltop vistas of Florence, following Dante’s inner journey to design a more meaningful, energizing second phase of life and leadership.

Program Overview

  • Duration: 5 days in Florence (daily 3–4 hour walking journeys + evening reflection)
  • Format: Small‑group leadership seminar (6–10 participants), walking journeys, guided storytelling, and one‑on‑one reflection moments
  • Investment: €3,450 (including program, materials, guided walks, and a curated workbook; travel and accommodation not included)
  • Flexible participation: You can join during fixed group departures in 2026 (dates announced on request) or arrange a Private Leadership Journey with customized dates and pacing.

The Divine Comedy as Your Starting Point

Dante’s Divina Commedia is the ultimate mid‑life Second Act story: lost in the “dark wood,” he is guided through descent, confrontation, and purification toward a new vision of life, love, and purpose. Each day of this program mirrors one of Dante’s three realms:

  • Inferno – The Dark Wood
Walking through older parts of Florence, you’ll name the outdated roles, fears, and identities you are ready to leave behind.
  • Purgatorio – The Ascent
In the hills and church spaces around Florence (San Miniato, San Salvatore alle Badesse), you’ll reflect on what needs to be released, healed, or transformed.
  • Paradiso – The Vision
From high vantage points such as Piazzale Michelangelo or San Miniato al Monte, you’ll articulate your next chapter and your leadership purpose.

What You Will Gain

  • Clarity on your “Second Act” vision and leadership direction, framed through Dante’s journey
  • A structured way to transition from your current role to a more fulfilling, purpose‑driven chapter
  • Insight into your personal narrative using the Hero’s JourneyHeroine’s Journey, and Divine Comedy as archetypal maps
  • Tools to overcome fear, inertia, and identity shifts, inspired by Dante’s traversal from doubt to grace
  • A concrete leadership roadmap for your next professional or creative chapter
  • Space to process your story with a small group of like‑minded leaders in transition

Key Themes

  • Letting go: Releasing outdated success definitions and old identities, just as Dante must leave his old self behind.
  • Redefining meaning: Aligning work, leadership, and purpose in mid‑life or beyond, following Dante’s journey from despair to clarity.
  • Second‑act leadership: Turning deep experience into wisdom, influence, and legacy, mirroring Dante’s return as a transformed protagonist.
  • Portfolio life & hybrid roles: Blending leadership, creativity, and coaching in new ways, supported by the structure of Dante’s three‑act journey.
  • Courage & belonging: Walking through uncertainty with intention and community, inspired by Virgil and Beatrice as inner guides.

The Florence Walking Journey

Each day you’ll walk a different “act” of your journey through Florence, explicitly linked to Dante’s poem:

  • Inferno – The Dark Wood
Walk the older streets and alleys to name your “hell” of stagnation, burnout, or confusion.
  • Purgatorio – The Ascent
Walk uphill routes, churches, and gardens to reflect on growth, learning, and what you want to release.
  • Paradiso – The Vision
Gather at panoramic spots to declare your next chapter, your leadership promise, and your renewed sense of purpose.

For Whom?

  • Senior leaders and professionals considering a career pivot or reinvention
  • Entrepreneurs seeking a more meaningful and sustainable direction
  • Creatives and coaches ready to turn experience into a new narrative
  • Anyone who feels, “There must be more than this,” and wants to lead their next chapter with intention

Your Second Act Starts Here

This is not about starting over—it’s about starting wiser. In Florence, guided by Dante’s Divine Comedy, you’ll walk your Leadership Hero’s Journey and leave with a clear, energized Second Act, grounded in story, structure, and the timeless question: What life do you choose now?
