My freedom of expression and giving people big emotions the same time.

As well as most people says, the crimes I write about in my stories seem to be the most brutal ever. I love to be a freak.

On what occasion would I lie?  

Only when someone doesn’t believe the truth. So I create things that they want me to say.

What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?  

The only thing I hate in my work is when someone breaks my concentration when I am writing. I feel that just like an aggression and a sort of loss of respect.

La sola cosa che odio del mio lavoro è quando qualcuno mi interrompe mentre sto scrivendo. La vivo come un’aggressione e una mancanza di rispetto.

When and where was I the happiest, in my work?  

When I received the first letters from my whole country’s readers after the publication of my debut book Primi Delitti, in my old publishing house (Acme, 1989). People fallen in love for it. I was been accepted as a writer. I couldn’t believe it.

Quando ho ricevuto le prime lettere da tutta Italia da chi aveva letto il mio libro di debutto Primi Delitti, ero nella mia vecchia casa editrice (Acme, 1989). La gente si era innamorata del libro. Ero stato accettato come scrittore. Non potevo crederci.

If I could, what would I change about myself?

My laziness. I hate it.

What books influenced my life and how?

Serial killers biographies and medical tests, at first. They gave me those basics with which I mould my characters. In fiction, Books of Blood, Christine, Divina Commedia for their powerful imaginary. This books showed me how important is to let the mind go free in storytelling.

Le bio dei serial killer e i testi di medicina, innanzitutto. Mi forniscono gli elementi base con cui costruisco i miei personaggi. Nella fiction, I Libri di Sangue, Christine-la macchina infernale e la Divina Commedia per la loro forza immaginifica.
