What is the best thing that I love about my work?

As dark as things may seem, there is still hope in my stories.

What is my idea of perfect happiness?

Being self-sufficient in the society we live in, by crafting the stories I need to say.

What is my greatest fear?

The possibility that one day I will not be physically able to externalize my thoughts.

What is the trait that I most deplore in myself?

Rushing into decisions.

Which living persons in my profession do I most admire?

The team who made the video game ‘Cuphead’, I love how they implemented traditional hand drawn animation in video games, a platform which is mostly using 3D computer graphics.

What is my greatest extravagance?

Spending money on concerts for sure!

On what occasion would I lie?

For the greater benefit of my colleagues if working on a team, or the people that need my support at a specific occasion.

What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?

My lack of patience through time, in order to learn how to draw anatomy properly.

When and where was I the happiest, in my work?

When I felt like what I’m producing might cause a positive impact on someone or that they felt the same way about a specific topic.

If I could, what would I change about myself?

The way I eat.

What is my greatest achievement in work?

Getting my films shown on festivals, I would say, makes me feel that I share my thoughts with people who consider my work worth watching, and that’s really flattering.

Where would I most like to live?

Probably a small town/village somewhere in Greece.

What is my most treasured possession?

With no second thought: my bookshelves.

What is my most marked characteristic?

Stubborness.

What is my most inspirational location, in my city?

The breakwaters near the sea shore in Old Faleron, where I grew up. It still influences me to this day.

What is my favourite place to eat and drink, in my city?

Pites tis Sofias’ for coffee and amazing homemade pies, and for drinks I would say ‘Galaxy’ in Athens.

What books influenced my life and how?

‘The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck’ by Don Rosa as a hero who never gave up on his dream to explore, was actually the reason I wanted to start telling stories.

Who are my favorite writers?

Georges Bataille & Hermann Hesse.

You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day?

The concept of dividing music into genres, is something I am not a supporter of. Thus I will divide the day in albums:

Swans – White Light from the Mouth of Infinity’ in the morning, ‘Funkadelic – Maggot Brain’, ‘Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds – No More Shall We Part’ in the afternoon and ‘Converge – Jane Doe’ during the evening.

During my funeral I would ask people to listen to my band’s old material.

Who is my hero or heroine in fiction?

Dr. Kenzō Tenma by Naoki Urasawa’s Monster.

Who are my heroes and heroines in real life?

All those who give away something theirs to those in need, and seek no credit to that.

Which movie would I recommend to see once in a lifetime?

Hiroshima Mon Amour.

What role plays art in my life and work?

Without creation I would reach insanity, trying to find the balance between creative art and commercial work is truly a difficult task.

Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime?

About fans/sponsors those who believed in me, even in the most indirect way, it really means a lot, and I am grateful for that. Partner in crime would be Georgi Stamenov, check out his work in 3D, it’s splendid.

Whom would I like to work with in 2019/2020? Which people in my profession would I love to meet in 2019/2020?

I am looking forward to working again with Degear0001, who makes some really interesting experimental/electro sounds and also did the voices for the characters in ‘All You Can Eat’. Also, I’d love to work again with Charlie Carroll, who did an amazing work with the sound design. I believe that if you can communicate with people during the production process and you share similar ideas about the project, I don’t see why not collaborating again.

What project, in 2019/2020, am I looking forward to work on?

The sequel of ‘All You Can Eat’.

All You Can Eat’ is making its way through festivals around the world, so Animation/Film Festivals would be the place.
