What is the best thing that I love about my work?
I think there are two things. When I think a new idea. It is a very special moment when it suddenly appears in the mind. And also when the public connects with my work in an exhibition and they reflect around the history.
What is my idea of happiness?
to think that I’m doing the things honestly and to think that I have enough to live and be surrounded by the people that I love.
What is my greatest fear?
The snakes, I wouldn’t be able to touch any no matter how small.
What is the trait that I most deplore in myself?
sometimes I am an impatient person but I make up for it with my photographs, since to take them I need tranquility and do it slowly.
Which living persons in my profession do i most admire?
I couldn’t say a single name, I admire all the people who make their work their passion and who share their knowledge with others.
What is my greatest extravagance?
Would it be collecting objects something extravagant? I don’t know, but it’s totally necessary in my work. Sometimes I look at everything I have and it seems that I live in a flea market.
On what occasion would I lie?
I do not like the lies, that is one of the factors that I value of the people. I prefer to be honest, although the truth hurts.
What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?
When I can’t find an object that I need for my work. Sometimes I have an idea and I have to wait weeks or months to find the perfect item to develop it.
When and where was I the happiest, in my work?
When I made my first exhibition, it was in Spain. It was a very small place but it was a magical experience. I couldn’t imagine showing 17 photos as the start of a career. I will never forget that exhibition.
If I could, what would I change about myself?
I would like to speak many languages. I’m still on time, right?.
What is my greatest achievement in work?
It is to be able to share my photos with the public and show them in different art galleries and spaces in the world.
Where would I most like to live?
I think I am living in a perfect place. In a town in the north coast of Spain, it is called Gijón.
It is a place big enough for me and it offers me everything I want
What is my most treasured possession?
My camera and my hard drives.
What is my most marked characteristic?
I think I am a very observant person and that helps me a lot in my work.
What is my most inspirational location, in my city?
Without a doubt, the beach, and the perfect time is in autumn. I love that type of light.
What is my favorite place to eat and drink, in my city?
Any cider house in my city. There you can drink cider, which is a typical drink of my region. That drink is made of apple.
What books influenced my life and how?
There are not any special book. I like to learn of the work of surrealist authors as Dalí, M.C. Escher and René Magritte.
You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day?
Any beatles song. It makes me remember when I walk around London, I love that city.
Who is my hero or heroine in fiction?
I don’t have any
Who are my heroes and heroines in real life?
Right now that we are living a pandemic, without a doubt, those who manage to save lives.
Which movie would i recommend to see once in a lifetime?
One of my favorite movies is “Interstellar”. I think it shows very well how small we are in the universe.
What role plays art in my life and work?
It is the main engine. Art is a way of living and expressing myself. I am continually trying to express myself with the photographs.
What do the words ‘You are the storyteller of your own life’ to me?
I think that there is nothing written and that you yourself are the author of your own story.
Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime?
Without a doubt my wife and daughter.
Which people or companies would I like to work with in 2020?
I feel very lucky because during these years I am meeting authors who were references for me I would like that Mr. Yasufumi Nakamori, curator of Tate Modern, values my work so that I can exhibit it there in the future. It would be a dream.
Which people in my profession who can make a real difference in my creative career would i love to meet in 2020?
I would like to meet to Hendrik Kerstens, Annie Leibovitz and Erwin Olaf
What project, in 2020, am I looking forward to work on?
I am working on my next exhibitions, some of them have been postponed by the coronavirus. I hope to be able to present them next year in Russia, with a big retrospective, Hungary, France, Poland and Portugal.

Currently I have an exhibition at the Institute Cervantes in Budapest and I will present another one in September in the Spanish Embassy in Brussels.
What do the words “Passion Never Retires” mean to me?
Living photography with passion makes it not a job for me, but a way of expressing myself and understanding life. I hope to continue with the same passion until my last days.
