What is the best thing that I love about my work?
It’s trying to create new atmospheres and sensations through colours, lines and shapes.
What is my idea of perfect happiness?
I don’t have a precise idea of it. I think that happiness arrives without a precise scheme.
What is my greatest fear?
Going back to the hospital.
What is the trait that I most deplore in myself?
I hold a grudge, sometimes.
Which living persons in my profession do i most admire?
John Romita Sr, Michele Rech, Norman Rockwell and many others.
What is my greatest extravagance?
I follow a lot of instagram and facebook pages about Corgi dogs and I save
a ton of photos in a folder call “Corgi Army”.
On what occasion would I lie?
In interviews like that. I’m not Daniele, I’m a 800 years old ANCIENT DRAGON.
What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?
Johnny, the client that change idea every two seconds.
When and where was I the happiest, in my work?
When I concluded a performance together with the artist Paco Cao and Google Arts & Culture for the project “Control” at the Galleria Nazionale D’arte Moderna in Rome. Everybody at the end was so happy for the good outcomes of the project.
If I could, what would I change about myself?
My nose, my shoes and my underwear.
What is my greatest achievement in work?
The autobiographical graphic novel, “La rabbia sul fondo”.
What do the words ‘The Financial Freedom to Create’ mean to me?
The works realized by comic book artists, illustrators and graphics is recognized as a real job, not as an hobby.
Where would I most like to live?
America or Japan.
What is my most treasured possession?
An ancient treasure chest full of golden coins that belonged to Edward Teach.
What is my most marked characteristic?
My hilarious and irresistible sense of humor.
What is my most inspirational location, in my city?
Every place that gives me some idea about projects and drawings.
What is my favourite place to eat and drink, in my city?
Every place that gives me some food and beer.
What books influenced my life and how?
When I was 13 I red “Lullaby” of Chuck Palahniuk. I was fascinated about
that type of narration and I started to read all his books. They give
me the pleasure of reading books (instead of just comics).
Who are my favorite writers?
J.K Rowling, Edward Bunker, Neil Gaiman, Lansdale.
You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day?
“The Lonely Path I Walk” by The Border Hoppin’ Boys.
Who is my hero or heroine in fiction?
Gomez Addams.
Who are my heroes and heroines in real life?
Johnny Cash, Raúl Juliá, Hank Williams, Buster Keaton, Max Pezzali.
Which movie would i recommend to see once in a lifetime?                                                 “A Walk in the Clouds” of 1995.
What role plays art in my life and work?
I eat art for breakfast. Indeed, the first thing I read in the morning is a good comic book in the toilet.
It’s an old habit inherited by my ancestors.
Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime?
Everybody who appreciates my works or my illustrations.
Whom would I like to work with in 2019?
With people that have great passions about this work and cool ideas.
Which people in my profession would i love to meet in 2019?
I would like to meet my childhood’s hero Giorgio Cavazzano.
What project, in 2019, am I looking forward to work on?
New comic books and illustrations.
