What is the best thing that I love about my work? The best thing is when i get into that creative flow, there is nothing like it. It is like i am in “the zone” and hours go by without noticing it.
What is my idea of happiness? I have had a few, i think this idea changes many times in life. For now, i think happiness is very similar to freedom. Being free in many aspects of life (internal and external) is my closest encounter with happiness at the moment. But i think, happiness is actually a practiced skill and not a feeling. It is up to me (and you) to keep growing in that direction if i want it as a lifestyle and not only a superficial sensation.
What is my greatest fear? I think this is similar to the last one, my greatest fear is to live without feeling free or worst, not having the energy or the will to keep pursuing freedom. Not being able to achieve my dreams in this lifetime is a big one.
What is the trait that I most deplore in myself? Procrastination, definitely.
Which living persons in my profession do i most admire? Alex Ross, one of the best illustrators i have ever seen. His level of realism put in comics is incredible. I was mindblown with his art when i was a teenager and he was my inspiration to follow an artistic path.
What is my greatest extravagance? I listen to japanese music (mostly from anime) when i am working. It gets all the artistic juices flowing.
On what occasion would I lie? Probably if i have to protect someone i care about and a lie is the only way.
What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work? Besides all the physical issues of being sitting down on a computer most of the day, i would say all the dry periods with no-creativity flow. Is the worst.
When and where was I the happiest, in my work? I think it was when i finished my first animation reel a few years ago. It was definitely a milestone in my career. I felt so proud of myself and started to feel very confident about my art, this was key.
If I could, what would I change about myself? I would like to be a less anxious guy. I tend to overthink everything and it is kind of exhausting, never underestimate the power of chillness.
What is my greatest achievement in work? I think i haven’t had it yet, i am very ambitious, but so far it would be illustrating for a feminist site.
Where would I most like to live? Germany or Greece i think. Culture close to nature is super important.
What is my most treasured possession? I am not a very possessive person, but besides my dog (of course), my PC is a key element in my life. Other than that, i think it would be my skateboard.
What is my most marked characteristic? I am a big BIG Cinephile.
What is my most inspirational location, in my city? In my city, Buenos Aires, there is a huge metal flower next to the Law School. It is like 10 mts tall and it moves and opens following the sun, it is an incredible piece of art.
What is my favourite place to eat and drink, in my city? I think it would be Slainte, the best irish pub in the city. I love tavern vibes for drinking and having a blast with my friends.
What books influenced my life and how? This is a very hard question. I think for my generation it was “The lord of the Rings” by Tolkien. It was the very first encounter with hard fantasy narrative with a rich lore. That book settled the sense of “epicness” in my mind and it was a seed for many many ideas and philosophy conversations. “Fictions” from Jorge Luis Borges it was also a huge influence.
You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day? Woah, such an deep question. I would listen some of a nostalgic bands like Linkin Park, Blink 182 and some punk rock form my teenage years, then i would listen to some epic metal and progressive music to sense the idea i am heading full charge to death, and then a more “mature and relaxed indie” tunes, the ones that help you with the “let go” kind of vibe.
Who is my hero or heroine in fiction? I love Bjorn Ironside from Vikings, he is literally the epitome of true and non-romantic heroism. Same would be Gutts from Berserk, a little more dark thou. BUT one of my greatest and underrated heroes of fiction would be Abed from Community.
Who are my heroes and heroines in real life? The people who keep pursuing their dreams and do what it takes to be what they want to be.
Which movie would i recommend to see once in a lifetime? Donnie Darko, my favourite movie of all time. The peaceful warrior is also a really good one.
What role plays art in my life and work? It is the main factor of my life and work. Art is the soul in everything and it is not always easy to reach or grasp, but it is always the goal.
What do the words ‘You are the storyteller of your own life’ to me? Those words are basically what i tell to myself daily. As a movie fan, fantasy geek and a little book worm, the idea that everything is a story is always there. Understanding your own story is an incredibly powerful weapon because you can make better decisions, understand better other people and have a clearer view of where do you wanna be in your own story, you are always the main character of your life.
Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime? My BFF Agus would be my ultimate partner in crime. Always cracking jokes, wondering about life, art and science in very deep and dumb conversations.
Which people or companies would I like to work with in 2021? As a huge comic and manga fan, i applied to animate the 1980’s “Berserk” manga in “STUDIO TAKA” it would be the highlight of 2021. (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCw1rFohB1db6Xt85jDamY9A)
It would be my dream to work with “Kurzgesagt”, those videos helped me so much in many aspects of
my life. (https://www.youtube.com/user/Kurzgesagt)
“The Take” has an amazing editing and content, i would love to work with them.
“Wisecrack” as well, i am in love with that channel and their vibe. Best pop culture place for debating
philosophy. (https://www.youtube.com/user/thugnotes)
It would be amazing to work with “Jonathan Young” in his videos. He is an insanely good artist and it
would be a highlight in my career. (https://www.youtube.com/user/jonathanyoungmusic)
“Wizards of the Coast” was my main conection with art, fantasy and gaming. Magic the Gathering
changed my life. It would be an honor for me to get some work with them.
What project, in 2021, am I looking forward to work on? I am looking forward to make some interesting pysytrance videos with great 3D animation in tune with very well produced music.
Where can you see me or my work in 2021? Probably for now, in my portfolio: https://www.behance.net/pablo_scrigna_
What do the words “Passion Never Retires” mean to me? It means that passion is not something tied to a job or workplace, is part of you. Is like hunger or sleep, you will continue having it and experiencing it until you die. Passion is not always something you have to economically exploit. Just enjoy it, it is the fire of your soul.
Which creative heroes should Peter invite to tell their story?
Jonathan Young, definitely. He is kind of an inspiration to me. Insanely talented musician.

IS THE HERO’S JOURNEY FOR YOU?
You are a creative professional who is interested in developing yourself and your creative business.
You are aware that there are no quick fixes. Learning is a journey that works when you are fully committed to it. A coach can bring awareness and help you navigate, but in the end it’s you who is in charge of your growth.

You are curious and want to engage in an interactive learning journey with Peter de Kuster.
